About UKUB

The National Association of Toolmakers (UKUB) was established in Bursa on 21.08.2002 by a decision of the Council of Ministers, with the aim of representing all institutions and individuals serving our country's toolmaking industry. Our association is currently the first and only organization that represents our sector both domestically and internationally.

Based on the principle that "the foundation of production is tooling", our goal is to be a non-governmental organization that carries out effective activities to bring an international dimension to the ever-expanding toolmaking sector, in line with developments in service and production quality and with better technologies for modern societies.

By bringing together tool manufacturers from across the country, we aim to enhance their competitiveness, foster cooperation with organizations in the same sector abroad, and support them in improving human resources and management quality.

Message from the President

Şahan Eçin

Last time, our article was titled ‘Shifting Balances.’ Every day, significant changes are happening both in our country and globally. We now continue with tariffs. Since Trump took office, particularly with the tariffs he signaled against countries starting with China, we will see how these measures reshape balances in the future and who will be the winners and losers.

Speaking on behalf of our sector, I anticipate that these tariff changes will indirectly negatively affect us, especially in products tied to foreign exchange such as imported steels. We will witness this together in the near future. On the other hand, Chinese toolmakers, who already have advantages in cost and lead time, will likely respond to these new tariffs by aggressively expanding into markets, particularly in Europe.
